Haemodialysis department

The hospital runs a specialist haemodialysis department for patients whose kidneys can no longer clear the blood on their own. Dialysis is listed among the hospital’s inpatient services alongside the emergency department, maternity, the surgical ward and intensive care.

Patients are referred to the unit by the internal medicine and urology departments, and treatment is coordinated with them.

Pathology and laboratory services

The pathology department is described by the hospital as the heart of accurate, evidence-based diagnosis: a correct diagnosis is the first step of correct treatment.

Pathology works alongside the biochemistry laboratory, blood transfusion, radiology, ultrasound and endoscopy — all inside the same building, so that results reach the treating physician without the patient having to travel between sites.
