The Dental department provides routine and specialist dental care for adults and children — examinations, fillings, extractions, root canal treatment, and the replacement of missing teeth. Treatment is carried out in equipped surgeries with sterilisation protocols applied to every instrument.

Dental X-ray is available on site, so a decision about a painful tooth does not have to wait for imaging elsewhere. Patients with diabetes, heart conditions or bleeding disorders are treated in coordination with the relevant department of the hospital.

Treatments we provide

Scaling and cleaning, composite and amalgam fillings, root canal treatment, simple and surgical extraction including impacted wisdom teeth, treatment of gum disease, crowns and bridges, dentures, and the management of dental abscess and infection.

For children: examination, fluoride application, fissure sealants, fillings in milk teeth, and guidance for parents on brushing and diet. Treating a child’s first dental visit gently matters — it shapes how they feel about the dentist for years.

Keeping your teeth healthy

Most dental disease is preventable. A check-up twice a year catches decay while it is still small and cheap to treat, and catches gum disease before it loosens teeth. Between visits, brushing twice daily and cleaning between the teeth does most of the work.

At each appointment we explain what we found and why a particular treatment is being recommended — including what happens if it is delayed, so that the choice is an informed one.

Before you come

Bring a list of your medicines, and tell the dentist if you take blood thinners, have a heart valve condition, are diabetic, or are pregnant — each of these changes how treatment is planned. Bring any previous dental X-rays if you have them.

For facial swelling with fever, uncontrolled bleeding after an extraction, or a tooth knocked out by injury, come the same day rather than waiting for a scheduled appointment.
